The municipality of Athienou and the Kallinikeio Municipal Museum, as part of their efforts to promote and support cultural heritage, announce the publication of an exciting children's fairy tale titled “The Thread of Patience.” The Greek picture book tells a true story, masterfully embroidered with elements of fiction, drawn from the neighbourhoods of Athienou in the first half of the 20th century. It explores the love for culture and intangible heritage passed down to younger generations and celebrates the value of patience and the cultivation of skills in children.
The story is written by the talented author Santi Antoniou, with illustrations by the award-winning Athienou-born artist Elena Tsigaridou. The book is published by A Bookworm Publication, in collaboration with the cultural services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and with the support of the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO.
